Headed by Teresa Chavez, the Cape Marassas Police Department, CMPD for short, strives to keep order and peace among the residents and tourists of Morada, despite rumors to the contrary from the criminal element of the island. She has enlisted the help of many detectives to battle against the forces of chaos and anarchy, piloted by the ever mysterious Chandler Ghent. The CMPD has not always had the smoothest sailing in the past, having had problems with corruption, and most recently a change in ranks due to a serial killing case which brought about the dismissal of the department's head sergeant, and near insanity to it's former chief inspector.

Despite this, the CMPD has forged ahead, battling the demons of the criminal elements in the West End, Old Waterfront, the Jungle, French Quarter, and in Cape Marassas proper. Recently, with the assistance of her detectives, Inspector Chavez managed to shut down the suspected operations of Chandler Ghent's Anarchist Movement. This has caused an uproar among the various sides of the battle of good and evil on the island, as Ghent's anarchist supporters face off in battles at times. Now, Ghent has moved his base of operations across from the CMPD headquarters, in an old renovated building just across the street on Jacaranda Way. A bold move, indeed!

Not only is the standoff between CMPD Detectives and Ghentian Anarchists boiling to near overflow, but now this subtle challenge has occurred, and you can bet Inspector Chavez is none too pleased. As a bounty hunter, and now a detective in the CMPD, I watch all of this with curiosity and apprehension. I have been on Morada for a very long time, and while it is my duty to serve and protect my fellow tourists and residents against the perpetrators that pollute the island, I am somewhat saddened that some of the very people I have sought to protect have now joined with Ghent, and are now not to be trusted.

Emotions run high on the island, mine right along with everyone else's. How can you protect someone you care about that you know is one of the enemy's pawns? That's something I ask myself every time I crawl out of my hammock and hit the road to close more cases. As Inspector Chavez tells the detectives, "Your job is to protect the island of Morada, not to start a fight with Chandler Ghent's followers." So, I now spend the time I am not sleeping, resting, teaching, or socializing with those I know I can trust, hunting down the criminals the CMPD needs caught, and keeping more to myself. Now I think I know what my father really meant when he once told me "Son, keep yer eyes open, yer head down, yer ears tuned, and yer trust level very little."
